Summer Season is in its full bloom at present. It's not only a regional issue but entire country and many other parts of the Globe are facing heat waves nowadays. As far as India is concerned right from North to South and East to West India is under the cluches of heat waves. This season is really very challenging and protecting ourselves is utmost important. In this Blog of ours we would like to emphasise on certain topics and certain aspects related with summer season and will get some idea how we can beat the heat ?

What is the Summer Heat?

As name itself is suggesting, summer heat means that heat which comes through summer season. In this season ambience temperature gets rise and during day time it becomes very difficult to go outside and breath comfortably. 2: Regularly monitor your hydration level or hydrated status
3: Consume more and more seasonal fruits and fresh non starchy vegetables
4: Whenever go outside carry along a reusable water bottle with water in it

Some Do's and Don't during summer season:

Do's -

  • During summer afternoons stay in indoor locations as much as possible
  • Use umbrella/ summer cap or hat and other suitable gears
  • Drink plenty of water or other non alcoholic fluids, preferably fruit juices ,tender coconut water , freshly obtained sugarcane juices etc.
  • Avoid tea ,coffee ,alcohol , sugar coated beverage and carbonated drinks etc.
  • Avoid heavy meals during day time, especially high amount of oil contained meals
  • Schedule your outside party or visit carefully
  • Wear loose and light colour clothes preferably cotton clothing
  • Use home made drinks like buttermilk, lassi ,lemonade ,mango paana ( raw mango's home.made drink ) ,sattu etc.
  • Keep 1 or 2 sachets of ORS alongwith you during any out visit
  • Schedule your workout accordingly, especially design them either before sunrise or after sunset
  • Take cool shower or bath to keep yourself cooler
  • If you feel any symptoms of heat stroke or heat rashes immidiatly consult your family physician without fail

Don't-

  • Don't carry out outdoor activities during hot summer days ,especially avoid during afternoons or till sunset time.
  • Don't use chilled water and other chilled drinks or something similar during hot summer day time
  • Don't wait until you feel thirsty, drink small small amount of water after small intervals instead of drinking in one shot
  • Never take immediate bath after coming from hot outside atmosphere

What are the common symptoms of heat stroke or sun stroke?

Following are main symptoms of sun stroke. If any one from them or more than one or two symptoms persists for an hour or so ,one should immidiatly take notice of them and do the immediate corrective action.

  • Tiredness

  • Headache
  • Nausea or Vomiting
  • Muscle cramps
  • Feeling fever or being sick
  • Heavy sweating
  • Intense thirst
